Is the Free tier real, or is everything important paywalled?
All 7 in-browser labs work fully on Free, plus 1,000 API + MCP calls a month (2 GB data) so you can actually build with it. The batch endpoint, the MCP server and the usage dashboard are on Free too. They cost us almost nothing and they are how you find out whether this is worth paying for. Paid tiers add volume, burst room and workflow depth: custom targets today, more of that layer as it ships. If you only need to analyse a track once a week, Free is enough. Forever. We deliberately do not cripple the basics to push upgrades.
When do Pro and Studio actually launch?
Pro, Studio and Founder are all live now. My BTW-id came through, so Stripe Tax can charge legally in the EU. The API and MCP server are live too, with a free tier and self-serve keys. Studio, the 100,000-call tier, is self-serve as well, grab it below. Enterprise is on request; email partners@audiolab.tools.
Can I get a surprise bill?
No. Your subscription is a fixed monthly (or yearly) amount. When you hit your monthly call or data quota, the API pauses for the rest of the billing period rather than overcharging. There is no per-call overage price, and no automatic top-up you did not ask for. The response tells you the ceiling is reached and your usage bar on /account shows it; if you are actively building, email partners@audiolab.tools and I raise it by hand, usually the same day.
What is the Founder tier, and why is it limited?
Founder is a one-time €49 payment that unlocks all current and future Pro features, for life. It is only open during the beta window; it closes when audiolab.tools reaches v1.0 stable. The point is to reward people who back the project early, not run a permanent discount.
Can I self-host?
Yes. Self-hosted licences are part of the Enterprise tier, for teams with data-residency or air-gap requirements. Pricing is per use case; contact me with your scenario.
Education / nonprofit pricing?
50% off Pro and Studio for verified educational institutions, accessibility nonprofits, and individual audio educators. Email partners@audiolab.tools with a one-line description.
Refund policy?
30-day no-questions refund on annual plans and Founder. Monthly plans cancel anytime; your access continues to the end of the billing period. Cancellation lives in your account settings, two clicks, no email-the-team requirement.
