AudioLab Local (beta)
The AudioLab measurements on your own machine. You point it at a folder of recordings and get a verdict per file and a report. Your audio is not uploaded.
What it does
- Scans a folder, including subfolders: WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG and Opus, AAC, AIFF and more, and raw telephony audio.
- Gives every file Pass, Check or Fail, with the reason in plain words.
- Has built-in checks for damage, voice recordings, podcasts, broadcast (EBU R128) and streaming, plus checks you set yourself.
- Writes a report for your client (English or Dutch, printable to PDF), a CSV and a JSON file, and a manifest with SHA-256 hashes.
Phone recordings
It reads every source at its own sample rate, including 8 and 16 kHz. In the browser a 16 kHz file is read at the browser’s own rate, and in our test that hid clipping that the local scan found. We tested this on synthetic signals, not yet on real calls.
Where it stands
- It is a beta. Today we run it together with you on your own machine, after an NDA and an evaluation agreement.
- It is not a download yet: there is no installer and no public package.
- Tested on Windows 11; on Linux from the command line.
- The scan makes no network connection by design. We say “your audio is not uploaded” because that is what the code does; we have not yet proven at the level of the operating system that the machine makes no connection at all.
- It measures sound. It is not a medical device and says nothing about a diagnosis.
